Why does the Messages app keeps shutting down?

Hey I'm on a ip6+ sent a msg to a friend and now I can't do anything in the app. It just shuts down whenever I try and do anything. Any help would be nice

Restart the phone...press/hold the home and power/lock button at the same time until the Apple logo appears on screen...then let go of the buttons...

Have done that and just a simple shut down

I had to end up resetting my phone from my last back up. I will leave this up so if anyone else is having problems. Thanks for the reply

I assume one of your friends sent you the iOS 8 Unicode bug via iMessage as a prank....

No I sent him 45 page msg as a joke and I'm the one that had the problem

You restored your phone because of sending a long message? Did you try deleting the message thread?
Had you explained it all in your OP, you may have gotten better suggestions and would not have needed to restore your phone.

Yes like I said. There was nothing I could do with my msg app.
