If you've enabled iMessages and have signed in, your iMessage ID is the Apple ID you used when you signed in.

How do I know if iMessage is activated?

Go to Settings-Messages and see if iMessage is turned ON. If it is, scroll down to "Send & Receive" and then tap on it. The Apple ID/email addresses listed, if any, can be used as your iMessage ID. If iMessage is not turn on, turn it on and select to use your Apple ID.

There should be an option somewhere near the top that asks if you want to use your Apple ID. If you select it, your Apple ID will appear along with your cell number. You can then choose which to initiate a conversation with. You will also be notified via email of the changes you made.
