I'm considering purchasing a late 2015 used imac quad Core i5 2.8GHz with 8GB RAM and a 2TB Fusion Drive. I'm a bit leery about the 8gb. I can't find a 16gb with similar specs. I will be using for fairly light web site editing, photo and video editing. Will the 8gb be ok? Thanks!

I have a 2011 model that had 4 sticks of 2gb ram. Found out it would hold 4 sticks of 4gb so I upgraded memory and added an SSD. Now it runs Lightroom and Luminar with no issues.

Yes, 8 GBs of RAM on a Mac is plenty, especially for what you’ll be using it for. Heck, I have a ton of tabs open constantly on my work-issues iPad Air with 8 GBs RAM and it handles it with ease.

As others have said, Apples memory management system is very good in Mac OS. I have only 8 gigs of ram in one of my 27” iMacs and it runs my brothers applications just fine and he also has multiple tabs open. You should be fine.
