I’m looking at getting a 21 inch 4k iMac with 512 gb ssd and 16 gb of ram. I know only the 27 is upgradable so I want to spec it for what I anticipate. I’m not interested in a 27. It’s too big for my work space. But I do minor photo and video editing and wonder if 16gb will be enough. I’m not a professional editor by any means so by minor I mean minor family videos etc.

Yes, it will be more than enough in my opinion.

For today’s standards (considering LIGHT video editing) 8 GB should be enough, but I wouldn’t go with less. If the price difference isn’t going to break the bank go with 16 GB.

If the cost difference between 8 and 16 is within a couple hundred bucks, I say get 16. I mean, it's only money, right?
