how do i wipe the hard drive on an old imac

i need to wipe the hard drive of my daughters old imac before taking it to ewaste disposal. I am a pc user and do not know how to function in mac and am using a pc keyboard

You can take out the drive if your that worried or use a strong magnet or just formatt the drive
