Debit card registration

Hi, I have been paying extra iCloud space via credit card. Now I am trying to change it to my debit card and the system sends message that it is invalid credit card number.
Is it possible that Apple does not accept debit card for this purpose?

Depending on which country you’re in it could be possible that only certain types of cards are supported with Pay.

If it’s a MasterCard Debit or Visa Debit, it should be possible, but your mileage may vary.
