Apple Wallet and other iCloud settings

Hi all - just made the jump from BlackBerry to iPhone (SE). I'm trying to learn all about iOS security and have a question regarding iCloud. First, is it safe to backup Apple Wallet to iCloud? Also, could anyone point me to any articles/threads/etc. that breakdown all the icloud settings as well as recommended optimal security settings for iCloud? I appreciate all the feedback!

It is indeed secure to backup to iCloud.
What you might want to do is log into appleid.apple.com and set your SE as a trusted device as well as adding Two-Steps verification.

is there any way to turn off icloud backup on the iphone and then manually backup via itunes, and send the itunes backup (encrypted) to the icloud?

1.Difference between iCloud Drive and Backup - should both me on, can one be on and the other off, are they both secure?

2.what do the toggles for mail, notes, reminders, etc. refer to. If iCloud Drive and backup are both off, do those still get backed up if the toggle is on? Does their toggle affect iCloud Drive or Backup?

3.Any way to encrypt before backing up?

4.What are some of your personal settings and backup methods?

Those "toggles" refer to whether or not you are electing to use those iCloud services/functions. That functionality is separate from both iCloud Drive and iCloud Backup.

3.Any way to encrypt before backing up?

Yes, if you use iTunes on a computer.
