When I go to iCloud settings the only advanced options available are mail or restore contacts

If your question is how can you restore your reminders, then the answer wold be via a recent backup that contained the reminders. Alternatively, you can initiate the Reminders app, select the Reminders option and then select "Show Completed" to view ALL of your completed reminders, unless of course, you've deleted the list.
