How to save text threads

How can I save texts and photos from family in ICloud?

If you do iCloud backups, your text threads are backed up. But as far as physically taking a thread and manually storing in iCloud, it won't let you do that.

But you can't delete the thread for it to stay backed up. If you delete the thread, then do another back up, it will be gone.
