My music library contains all albums Purchased from Istore. The last one was at least six months ago. I purchased a new mac air and most of my albums have been reloaded into my music library. I do not want to lose this music but I do not want icloud .

If it's music you purchased from iTunes, it won't be affected. iCloud and iTunes are not the same thing. But why fo you not want iCloud? It's a great way to keep a back up of what's on your phone.

In addition to what Ledsteplin stated, if you subscribe to Music and have created playlists, those playlists will no longer show if you turn off "iCloud Music Library".
