Hello!
I'm purchasing an iPhone 5 this month. I currently have an iPod Touch 4. If I backup all of my stuff and then reset the iPod (because I'm selling it) will I still be able to retrieve all of my files when I get the 5?

Follow the steps found via the following link.

Thank you! I don't know if that fully answers my question though- even after I reset the iPod, everything will still be safe in the cloud?
If you back up your iPod, either via iTunes or iCloud and then decide you want to reset it as new for the purpose of selling it, your backed up data will still be available via iCloud and/or iTunes (whichever method you chose to back up). Therefore, when you get your iPhone 5, all you have to do during setup is select to restore from a backup when prompted.
Highly recommend an encrypted backup to iTunes, rather than an iCloud backup. The iTunes backup will backup more than iCloud will, and checking the box for encryption will also backup your passwords.
