Possible MobileMe iCloud merge solution

I have a gmail account linked to iTunes but have also got a MobileMe account. Now currently there is no way to combine these when iCloud is release but is it possible that you could completely delete your MobileMe account and then retake the same email address as your iCloud email address?

I suspect not, but it's worth an ask!

We're missing a great deal of details. This is a very good question and it would solve my 2-seperate-accounts problem.

But currently, there is no way to delete a MobileMe account and there is no way to change an existing iCloud email address (for Devs) if we made a spelling error while entering it the first time
