HomePod Mini configuring

My wife got me a HomePod mini as a gift. It’s been stuck in configuring for several hours. Tried a reset and repair and same thing right to configuring. Any ideas?

I have a regular HomePod in my home office with no issues.

Ok fixed it after several hours. Logged into iCloud, removed the device and then reset and paired it now it’s configured and just downloading the update.

That’s great news! I was given the original HomePod and gave my friend a HomePod Mini for Christmas.

If you follow steps provided by Apple include rebooting HomePod mini or even restoring it to its default settings. In both instances, the fix is only temporary. It will randomly disconnect from the WiFi. The only fix that works for me is to factory reset the HomePod mini, then re-add it to the Home app.
