Is HomePod pushing us closer to an Apple TV set?

So - now that HomePods are a thing, and they will be in homes around the world real soon... do you think this puts us any closer to having an Apple Television set?

This has been something we've wondered about for some time now, and while the TV game is competitive for sure - Apple should be able to do some really impressive things there. Think about the existing Apple TV, gaming, AR/VR, and now HomePod, and how they could all tie together for a wonderful experience. All controlled via voice, or iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, whatever...

I’m not sure. I mean, What could they do with regard to a television set that would be more appealing than what’s already available?

Anything is possible. They’d definitely have to do something over the top to get people to shell out the premium for an Apple branded television.
