So seeing more and more about the HomePod, I'm starting to consider it a little more. I already had intentions on purchasing an AppleTV as my 1st gen is over and done with. I've also been pondering a sound bar. I'm aware that I'm not going to get the same audio quality or volume levels out of the HomePod that I may get from a soundbar. But maybe I don't need that. Is anyone planning on using the HomePod as a mini-sound system with their television? Or am I asking for too much?

If or when I do get it, I will definitely use it as a home theatre option for my TV if the capabilities are indeed present.

I think that’s a great idea! Before I purchased a sound bar, I used my Soundlink Mini with my TV & it was great.

I tried to watch Thor on my MacBook and the sound to the HomePod was delayed by 3-4 seconds. I haven’t messed around with it as I was busy so maybe I just needed a restart or something. Don’t know yet. Delay is not gonna work with movie watching that’s for sure
