How do I intercom specific person with Apple Home?

I read an article on that said Intercom on Apple Home could be sent to a specific user. When I tell Siri to intercom a person in my home, I get a message saying that Siri cannot intercom contacts. Is there a setting to enable intercom use to a specific person in my Apple Home?

You can intercom a specific HomePod and if that HomePod is in that person’s room then yes, you can technically intercom with that person.
