So I've been using the Tmobile Cellspot router since I became a customer about 5 years ago. Router was worked great despite the fact it's locked down and cannot update firmware, even stock Asus firmware.

So with several new additions to the home network, I decided a hardware upgrade was in order so I ordered the Ubiquity AmpliFi mesh wifi system:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L9O08PW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I put the main router exactly where the old one was (middle of the house), and placed the mesh points at opposite ends of the house and the signal and reception was a lot better that I was expecting.

And with the app I can access the network settings from anywhere.

Just wanted to pass this along in case anyone was thinking about getting one of these.

I specifically went with Ubiquity as I use their products all the time at work.

My house isn’t big enough to justify getting my own hardware for WiFi. The one that came with my provider is enough.

I’ll go along with that ! my wifi will carry across the street( but will not connect when I get home ) and the same down the garden.

I also just updated my wifi to a mesh system, TPLink Deco P7. So far I am very happy. Speed and consistency is much better than my prior arrangement of standard router with 2 range extenders. I get good signal in the garage now, as well as another detached building on our property. The old system worked well with stationary objects (TV, game console, speaker, etc.), but not so well with mobile devices (phones, tablets, etc.) My belief is that the phones and tablets would establish a connection, and continue to try to keep that connection even if you moved to a new area and the signal was much weaker than one from an extender. The mesh system allows for seamless roaming. I also like all the information on the system that I can get from the app, the ability to prioritize streaming services or gaming, and how I am notified if a new device joins our network.
