PSA: Netgear Orbi firmware and HomeKit

Just wanted to post a PSA that the latest Netgear firmware for the Orbi mess wifi system has issues with some 2.4ghz HomeKit devices.

Their forums are full of users having issues.

I was having problems with a handful of devices and rolling back to the previous firmware resolved my issues.

Do you know what firmware version? I updated maybe four or five months ago but not since then.

Good Firmware: 2.1.2.18

Yep. Go to https://www.netgear.com/support/, enter your model number, go to downloads, then tap the “View Previous Versions” link toward the bottom. You’ll have to manually install it.

Yep they have the manual install instructions at Netgear. That is what I did t correct the HomeKit issues.
