Which Alexa device should I get?

Folks,

Right now there are 3 choices of Alexa devices and a 4th on the way, so you may ask the question which should I get? Should I get the Echo, the Tap, the Dot, OR wait for the Show? One of the iMore editors wrote an excellent blog highlighting the different choices...

I'm hoping to get the new Ecobee thermostat with Alexa built in, not an Echo at all.

I'm a big fan of the Echo because of its louder speaker compared to the Dot but with the addition of a screen with the "Show" it does up the ante so we will have to see. It's looking very positive.

It's getting more and more difficult for me to wait personally, but if Sonos releases a speaker with Alexa, that might be the way to go for me. I can't justify an Echo/Alexa device without Sonos integration as I have spent far too much money on Sonos.
