If you have spent any time at all on the iMore forums, I'm sure you've probably seen posts about what is the best calendar app. As you know, there are plenty of choices available. I prefer to use the native calendar. It's simple to use and does the job for me.

Here's a quick guide to show you how to use the native calendar app. Let's start first by setting up your calendars. Tap "calendars" at the bottom of the screen. [GUIDE] How to add/delete events in the native calendar-imageuploadedbyimore-forums1385321125.320448.jpg

Now, you'll see all of your current calendars. In my example, I have a normal calendar, home calendar and work calendar. You can change the names of the calendars by tapping the "i" in the circle. [GUIDE] How to add/delete events in the native calendar-imageuploadedbyimore-forums1385321158.055629.jpg

You can also change the colors for any calendar. Tap "edit" in the upper left corner to add a new calendar or edit a calendar.

To add an event, tap the plus sign (+) in the upper right corner. You'll see an Add Event screen. [GUIDE] How to add/delete events in the native calendar-imageuploadedbyimore-forums1385321189.655564.jpg

Scroll down to enter information for the date, and start and end times. There are also options for repeat, invitees, alerts and calendar name. [GUIDE] How to add/delete events in the native calendar-imageuploadedbyimore-forums1385321227.355302.jpg

To delete an event from the native calendar app, tap on the event, tap "edit" in the upper right corner then scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Event". [GUIDE] How to add/delete events in the native calendar-imageuploadedbyimore-forums1385321249.134008.jpg

If I'm in a hurry, I'll use Siri to schedule or delete my appointments.
As I mentioned earlier, there are many fine calendar app choices available. I just happen to prefer the native calendar because it's easy to use and it works for me.
