AT&T recently announced that it was joining the other wireless carriers in selling "anonymized" data to its advertisers. Fortunately, they have also provided an option to opt out of this program. With all of the privacy concerns that we are faced with on a daily basis, opting out is a smart and popular choice.
Here's how you can opt out of this reporting program:
- Go to the AT&T's opt-out page (https://forums.imore.com/e?link=http...token=28Jv7qOg).
- Log in using your phone number and password.
- You should now see AT&T’s privacy settings page:

- Check the box next to each wireless phone number for which you want to opt out.
- Click the “Submit” button
Each of the lines that you have checked off will now be excluded from the program. AT&T may continue to collect anonymous usage data as you use your phone, but that data will not be sold to advertisers.
