Google App Icon - 3D ish

Anyone notice the Google App Icon is 3D ish at the bottom?
I just noticed it with the most recent app update. Both on my iPhone & iPad.
Not the flat style of iOS7.

It would be CB, I am the Moderator Team Leader over there. I think we have interacted in the past. Perhaps we talked college football?

Anyways yea I checked it out and the icon does appear to have a 3D quality to it, more so than other icons. It's subtle but it's there!
