Why don't we have push for gmail? Is there a way to get it? (jail broken 3gs)

I would much rather instant notifications..

If push is very important to you, you might want to look into mobleme from apple. Otherwise, there is an app called gpush that has so far worked for me. I've had it a couple days and have yet to miss an email. There are some very bad reviews on it, but it works and is very cheap.

Simple answer. Apple sells this little service called Mobile Me that provides push email. If Apple were to allow free push gmail, then people wouldn't not be as likely to buy Apple's version of the cloud.

If Apple wanted you to have push gmail, you'd have it already.

I believe they will never allow Gmail push because of Android , yahoo email is push . Mobile me is great if you want true push and other great services look @ mobile me .
