When I worked in sales , I was always taught: “create a desire” in potential customers. So, for Apple to hire professional leakers would absolutely not surprise me in the least. Why fight leaks when you can control them and use them to your own advantage?
Apple knows this, that’s why they’ve hired all the people who managed to hack their products instead of just pressing charges.
Hiring leakers is a good way of controlling what you want the public to know about your upcoming release, IMO.

Agreed, and I would add that leaks are used to gauge early reactions to certain new features or enhancement. If the reaction is overwhelmingly negative, it provides them the time to make corrections.

The leaks are becoming incredibly more frequent though. The ESOL members should be checked out. There is help for frequent leaking.

Thank goodness too. I think it’s smart of them to do so.

It’s sort of a double-edged sword. I mean, I understand the pros and cons of leaking, but in regard to the iPhone, I would prefer Apple not to leak images of an upcoming model. I can deal with the leaking of specs. I hope that made sense.

Why do you not like the model leaks?

For “me”, it takes away some of the excitement at the official unveiling ceremony. I don’t want to know what it looks like prior to that day and time.

I can agree with this but if it’s a dating site the specs might not match the unveiling

If what Kuo says is true, it looks like Apple found a way to charge more for some models. If they charge $100 more or something for a model with 5G, I may just have to stick with 4G.

I’m not an expert but I believe it will be a while before 5g is really utilized as it can. For me there’s no need to pay extra for it.

Unless you need to download a 3GB movie in 35 seconds, there is no need for 5G. IMO there is no need for a “phone” to be on a 5G network at all. For the common consumer they will never do anything that requires 5G or anything where they will notice the difference.

In many instances people are getting by not even truly on 4G. If you are currently LTE or 4G LTE it’s because your not truly in 4G but are on “Long Term Evolution” which was a term developed for carriers that didn’t meet requirements for 4G speeds but were far more advanced than 3G. It’s the same thing that AT&T is doing with 5G LTE. They are not 5G but their current network far exceeds 4G speeds.

Based on a lot of the 5G articles, while it’s being advertised as for the individual consumer, it’s truly being created for the carriers to open up their networks for a different spectrum type of bandwidth for them because people have so many different types of devices to connect with cellular.

Update: just infiltrated a meeting between Kuo and his supply chain advisers. It is confirmed in 2020 the device will be a combination of a phone, an iPod, and an internet provider. It will be called iPhone.

I believe it’s “internet communicator”. Don’t worry, still funny.

"3 new devices, a phone, an ipod and an internet communicator, a phone, an ipod and an internet communicator, are you getting it?"
