I don’t see how it can be avoided that the new iPhone will cost more. Tariffs will have an impact.
I don’t think it will be $2000.

Welcome to iMore @charstv. Since Apple pricing usually goes UP yearly, I would think so. Maybe not quite $2000, but close to it for the high end model...In my estimate/opinion anyways.

Do I think the any of the 2019 model iPhones will exceed 2 grand? No. The price will more than likely stay with the current pricing scheme, in my opinion.

I remember purchasing the first iPhone on Cingular for $600.

To answer the op question, no I don’t think this years iPhone will be 2,000.

Well the chart is right regardless of what you remember. The first iPhone starting price was $499.

It claims the the original iPhone was $450, the price on on the xs is wrong as well. Looks like funny math.

I, too, remember the first iPhone costing around $600. A co-worker purchased one and there were no monthly plans for it at the time.

Humm, I remember $499 with AT&T and at the time I was into Blackberry and the thought of a non removable battery was out of the question. The 4gb was $499 and 8gb $599

Just on assumption, I think the the XR will simply be named the "iPhone" which would be the "regular" priced iPhone and the iPhone "Pros" would be the more expensive ones just like now with the XS and XS Max.

Just don't see Apple increasing their prices again because of the moniker they already have the "$1,000 phone".

I’m not doubting you, and I do not know which model my former co-worker purchased, but I know he paid $600 for it. With that being said, I assume it was the 8 GB version you mentioned. Like you, I was a die-hard BlackBerry guy in those days.

I'm guessing they will price this year's offerings to be lower since they hit a wall with sales on the new one. Not entirely sure but expect a 1000 dollar phone again.

Price will most likely stay around the same price. They already got hit when they tried to raise prices (and ended up lowering prices in some markets).
