It crashes nonstop. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. On iPhone X and iPad Pro 9.7. What am I missing ?

Did you try uninstalling it and then rebooting your devices before reinstalling it? In addition, have you checked to see if there's an app update that fixes the problem?

Yes, yes and yes. It’s maddening. Currently I can only use the website, the app is a brick.

Hi EvilGuppy, good to see you. Sorry to hear you're having Facebook problems. I'm currently involved with 10 Facebook groups and the main Facebook and I'm not having any problems. Not sure what to tell someone who's as experienced in the smartphone world as I am how to fix this problem because you probably did everything I would have done.
I'm currently using Facebook on my 7 Plus running the current official iOS (11.4.1). After uninstalling did you do a reboot before reinstalling?

Humm, interesting. I'm on a 7 plus or iPad 9.7 running the same iOS. No problems to speak of. Not sure what to tell you.

You could try testing to see if there's any corrupt system files. Perform a complete encrypted backup, factory reset and set the phone up as new. Before reinstalling your backup try installing Facebook and see if it crashes. If it runs fine then you had some corrupt system files somewhere. Best to finish setting up as new without reinstalling the corrupt files from your backup.

If it does crash, report it to the FB developers and be sure to let them know you set your phone up as new to test the app. It should then be safe to reinstall your backup.
    Annie_8plus and Spencerdl like this.
