Hi all,

I'm new to the forums but a big iMore fan. I have a family of iPhone users and am the principal maintainer as well as an iPhone repair person on the side. I've replaced one of my kids iPhone 6S batteries and wanted to see if the community can help me with some observations on the new iOS 11.3 Battery health (beta) feature. Can you post your phone model (A#### from the back if you're unsure) and iOS 11.3 Battery health beta details.

mine:
iPhone 6S rose gold: Maximum Capacity: Service (unable to determine); Peak Performance [comment: phone runs in peak performance if unable to determine battery; no sudden shutdowns; battery life ~4-5 hrs; new battery on order. OEM battery]

iPhone 6S gold: Maximum Capacity 100%; Peak Performance (new battery)

iPhone 7 Plus JB: Maximum Capacity 89%; Peak Performance (original battery; phone in use since October 2016.

iPhone 7 Gold: Maximum Capacity 94%; Peak Performance (Original battery)

iPhone X Silver: Maximum Capacity 100%

iPhone 7 Plus bought at launch, 94%. And it gets charged every night regardless of battery level.

iPhone 6 Plus original battery bought a few months after launch. 98%
My wives 7 plus bought New Year’s Eve 2016: 88% but she routinely will kill the battery in a day. Mine is on the charger a good bit during the day and each night

What would iOS 11.3 have to do with battery health %? It's the same, regardless of the OS. If you mean battery charge life, then that's different.

As far as i know the information is only exposed on iPhone devices on iOS 11.3 unlike the previous battery health information that's been on macOS/OS X for as long as i can remember. I'm specifically referring to the battery health information on iphone's running iOS 11.3 that you can find by going to Settings -> Batter -> Battery Health (Beta).

Gotcha! But it sounded like the results would be different from other OS. And most are just posting results that would also be on iOS 10. A screenshot of the results would be nice. That would show off the new feature. I haven't seen it, as I'm still on iOS 10.1.1. LOL

My Wife's iPhone 7 she's had 13 months. She's on it a lot, as she's retired. This compares Apple's data with the Lirum app data. Close.

3 hours? There must be something else other than games draining your battery.

Bro you wouldn’t believe, I bought my iPhone X @Christmas, I am a casual user, like YouTube whatsapp etc, yesterday I check my capacity it is 97%, is it fine?!

Yep it’s fine. Apple’s iPhone batteries are designed to retain 80% of their original capacity for 500 full charge cycles. It’s to be expected that they slowly degrade over time.
