    $999?

    $1,200?

    100 BILLION DOLLARS?!

How much would you be willing to pay for the new iPhone?

I draw the line at $99 billion

I’m okay with $1,200-1,300 provided the value in what I’m getting in return is there.

The question came up in the iPhone 8 forum along with a poll.

I’m okay with $1500-1700 AUD. Above $2000 AUD is way too much.

I've never paid over $500 for a smartphone and won't start anytime soon.

I’m willing to pay what I typically pay for a iPhone. One of my closest friends asked me if I was getting the iPhone 8, and my answer was this - if it’s price the way the original rumors indicate, then no I won’t get it. I’ll get an iPhone 7S instead and then give my youngest son my current iPhone 7 Plus, and I meant it!

Paying in installments isn’t that much of a strain on the wallet as paying up front.

Does it end up behind no more or the same amount?

    Depends on the provider.
The iPhone 7 Plus 256GB was €1129 at the Store and when I got it with 24 installments with my data plan the total sum is gonna be €979 euro.
That’s a discount of €250. I guess they did/do this so you won’t change carriers and to attract new customers.

Sure, they make money on service so customer retention is important.

I won't do that any more. I want the freedom to leave whenever I want and purchase whatever I want.

But still it's less painful than a one time 1000+ dollar purchase.

I know that. The way he worded it though. It's a 2 year contract plan.

Once the phone is paid off, I get to pay for my contract only. Going from €59 a month now to €32 a month after the initial 24 months.

I don’t change carriers that often. Have been with T-Mobile for over 8 years now. I’m happy with them and they are cheap for my use-case.

If I want to get a new iPhone before my installments are paid off, I have to ability to get a early renewal. It’s cumbersome but definitely worth the pain.

I have been getting mine on installments and then pay it off early. I already paid off my 7 Plus so I'll get the 8 on installments and pay it off next year before September.
It works for me, and I don't worry about the initial cost of the device.

As long as you're happy, that's what's important.

I would have guessed you'd be getting the 8, Q.

Oh yeah. I've been waiting for it! I had a bit of a scare when there were reports of no Touch ID with no way to unlock except without a password. But now they're saying gave recognition so that's OK. As long as I don't have to enter the one million passwords I have, I'm fine.
All is well, thanks. Hope all is well with you too. ❤️

That really has become something that people need efficient ways to do. Typing in a different password every time you visit a site is not something I want to do any more. Touch ID, retina, whatever it is makes our look vets safer and easier.

I'm happy with my SE right now. We'll see if they come out with an updated version next year.

I seem to remember in Bookkeeping a formula for Net Present Value, which was an added worth to an item you could pay off later. Leverage. Anyway, it's true you're ahead if you pay the same price, only later.

I’m hoping that this new Face ID will be great enough to replace Touch ID for the time being 🤣
