News App for Canada

I asked around the WWDC time if there was any discussion about the News app coming to Canadians?

I use Flipboard, but native apps make me happy, and there doesn't seem to be any drive to get the Apple News app to us north of the 49th parallel!

Any word?

I'm the guy who asked this question, forgot to sign in when posting.

It's a shame that Canada misses out on such apps, however with the CRTC controlling most of our content import and distribution I guess its expected...

Welcome. Glad you decided to join. Yes and when it comes to the CRTC, it seems to be mostly about Canadian content. So I would not expect to see it anytime soon.

I'm good with these. There seems to be no lack of news apps, I usually have a lot more than this.

Even Google news to catch all the headlines is great ........ If you want to free up some space on a device like I have to with 16GB
