    Seems like you may have "Do Not Disturb" switch [On].

    Go to settings then "Do Not Disturb" and toggle off both options as shown below.

    Also, be sure the volume is up in 3 places.
    1. Side of the phone
    2. Pull up Control Center
    3. Settings > Sounds
    Be sure the ring/silent switch on the side of the phone is set correctly.
