Can a caller tell if you have heard their voice mail?

i have a voice mail that id like to hear, but i dont want the caller to know ive listened to it.

It would actually be good because they'd know you didn't get it and that's why you didn't respond. Then again I have read receipts off on iMessage

I couldn't stand to look at the notification. If that were mine I would just swipe-delete them if they were old!

There ARE some 3rd party voice mail apps with features that approximate this, but generally no, they can not tell.
