Blue icon dots - on 1 iPhone but not 2 others?

I

iMore Question

I know the purpose of the blue dots by icon names. Why is it on 1 iPhone, but not the other 2 iPhones or 2 iPods in my house? 2 phones & 1 pod have the same apps loaded (mostly), but no dots on them.
How can I turn it off in the 3rd phone? I looked in Settings>iTunes & App Store
as well as the App Store itself. All settings are the same.

Welcome to iMore! The blue dot indicates that the app was recently updated. After that app is opened the dot disappears. There is no setting to enable/disable the feature as far as I know. If you're only seeing it on some of your devices it just means that the app wasn't updated on the others.

It's pretty random for me. Some apps update in the background and have the dot and some apps are automatically updated as well, but don't have it.
