my friend blocked my texts, he is no longer in my contacts, but if i try to send a text, his name will appear in the send space..I thought he blocked me..

Welcome to iMore! What he does has no affect on how it shows in your messages. You deleted his contact. If it still shows his name, then it's still in the recents. When you put his name in, look in the field below that for his number or name. If there is a circled i to the right, tap it. Then scroll down to delete that.
