Why am I unable to hear when a text message comes in? How can I set it up so that I can hear it?

Cannot hear when a text message comes across.

Walk me through setting the sound when a text is received. I cannot seem to get it to work. The ringer works fine and I hear the sound when I send and receive emails.

Welcome to iMore. If the ringer works, so should the text tones. Check to see if you have Do Not Disturb turned on in messages. Tap "details" in the upper right corner. Scroll down to Do Not Disturb and toggle off.
