I had a Panasonic brick phone, similar in size to the current cordless phones. I was drooling over a Motorola flip phone.
Edit: Ha, it was a Sony CMB1207CNT0, not Panasonic.

That was a good phone.
I'm pretty sure I was rocking this instil I finally swapped for a Samsung SPH-A500 (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=158) - $700 at the time but it was cream of the crop. Only better option was a BlackBerry. Finally made the switch to a BlackBerry circa 2005 and rocked BlackBerry exclusively until around 2012. From there it was everything from BlackBerry 10 to iPhone and even some Froyo Androids.
