ringer/volume icon cannot make it go away.

ringer/volume icon stuck on aLL screens. don't know what i did, but I cannot get rid of it and it's blocking my poor vision. HELP!

I would start with a reboot. Power down then power up. The first rule of computers... In case of any doubt reboot

To reboot, hold the power and home buttons down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.
