When someone calls my phone and leaves a message my 4s does not let me know I have a message nor is anything recorded.

Then how do you know that someone has left you a message? Anyway, is voicemail set up on your iPhone?

Well, if people get my message when they call does that mean it is setup?

    Obviously.

If they're hearing your voice and then leaving a message, but when you check messages nothing is recorded; contact your cell phone carrier to help you fix that.

Also ensure that in Sounds you have a notification sound set up for when you get voicemail.

Someone told me to reboot with the home and power keys. Problem where are these keys?

The Home button is that big round button on the front bottom of the phone. The Power button is, depending on the model of your phone, on the right side of the phone or on the top of the phone.

You can't find those? First, they're not keys. They're buttons. Were you looking on the keyboard?

Sorry I used the wrong word. I know the home button is on the bottom of the phone. So, is the power button the one on top of the 4s? Do you think a reboot will work. How do I know how long I need to hold these buttons.

Thanks Sherry. I used the wrong word. How do I know how long to hold the buttons for a reboot? Can this cause harm to my phone?

Just push them both and hold until you see the  on your screen. Then release.

In case you're not using TapaTalk... hold both of them down until you see the Apple logo. Then let go of the buttons and let the phone reboot. It doesn't delete anything, it just reboots your phone. Sometimes this helps fix wonky issues.

(Ledsteplin: that Apple icon only shows up on a device... it's just a square when viewing on a PC, so those using a PC aren't going to know you mean the Apple logo.)
