i know i'm probably a newbie at understanding this stuff than some of you are, which is why i'm asking, so please be respectful when responding to my question.

i was wondering: if a game is available in both google play AND itunes, can you start playing the game in google play and continue the game on the ios device, and vice versa?

I'm one of those people that have a mixture of both android and ios devices and would like to have this as a possibility.

    thanks in advance

It depends. IOS's native Game Center is not compatible with other platforms but many apps allow you to sign in using a social networking account (i.e. Facebook) to sync games or it may have its own proprietary service. For example, Angry Birds users can set up a Rovio account and sync across devices that way.
In the end it depends on the app. Check your in-app settings and see what's available.
