How do I get older messages on my new phone

I lost my older messages and numbers on new iPhone. Does anyone know how to get them back?

Welcome to iMore! If they have been deleted, there's not much you can do, unless you have them backed up to iCloud. But then you would have to restore your phone to iCloud to get them. Maybe someone else has another idea.
