Why does my screen close without making a selection?

Screen closes without making a selection...

I started to have this problem about two weeks ago. If I tap the face- I have it on Mickey Mouse- then hit the crown to select from the apps- and go to the exercise "dot" and try to choose that to monitor whatever exercise I am wanting to do- indoor walk/ outdoor walk/ etc., the screen closes and I cannot make a selection of anything.
