Just downloaded OS X el captain and printer now not working. How can I get it working?

Just downloaded OS X el captain and printer now not working

Seems that our cannon mp470 printer is not compatible with el capitan and only compatible with OS Mavericks. What can I do other then buy a new printer?

Welcome to iMore! You could try to uninstall the printer and then reinstall it. OS X may have system drivers that will work with your MP470 so you may not need to download and install drivers directly from Canon.
