I am unable to hear caller's voice and vice versa

Sometimes when I receive or call someone, I am unable to hear them and they are unable to hear me.

Welcome to iMore! Try resetting your phone. To perform a hard reset, hold both the power button and home button down until you see the Apple boot logo. If that doesn't work let us know and we can troubleshoot some more. It could be a carrier issue as well.
