Why can't I hear people when I make a call?

I cannot hear people when I call

I was on the phone talking and I got cut off, since then any call that I make I cannot hear the operson nor can I hear the phone ringing. Also people tell me there is a green circle near my name

Which iPhone are you using? Try doing a hard rest, and if that does not work you might want to thing about making a Genius Bar appointment at your loca Apple store. It might be the speaker.
