Why aren't my call logs showing the colors that are associated with which number a contact is calling from?

iOS 9 call log

Hello,

I do apologise in advance if this is not the right thread to post in. I work for a marketing company and we use iPhones.

Lots of contacts have more than a phone number saved in their business card as mobile, main, home, private ecc.

In iOS 9, in the recent calls log, can not see anymore the phone number coloured in blue as to show which number called (mobile, main, home, private, ecc); a big issue if the contact has more than 2 numbers saved in his BC.

Would like to know if its just me or is something common that happen to you guys as well.

Thank you for your time

Alex S

Does it not show the label beneath the name/number? It's no longer blued. It just shows the label under the name or number.

Is yours not this way?

Re: iOS 9 call log

Thank you very much. True it shows the label but on many contacts I have for example 2 numbers labelled as mobile, so if this contact will call me, it will show me Marcia mobile but not which phone number from those 2 labelled as mobile.

All you have to do is label the numbers with different labels. One can be iPhone, one can be mobile, one can be home, etc. To change them, tap on the blue label. Then select one, or create a custom label. This way each number of a contact will have it's own label.

Re: iOS 9 call log

For example ,
My contact Nihat called me missed call there but I cannot get the number which mobile called me ? In previous iOS , the number was going blue. That's weird missing problem in iOS 9.

You have both labeled "cep". Change one to something else. Like home, mobile, iPhone, work, main, or other. Like this contact:

Shows in call log as iPhone.

Contact card shows 2 numbers with different labels. One is iPhone and the other a regular home phone.

I know. This is other little change from other previous iOS. That was a little detail, but it was useful. You now , Apple users love little details , this was good for knowing which number called.

In iOS 8.4.1, if a caller who has 6 numbers, calls you and you see a missed call. Then, clicking the "i" symbol next to the missed call showed you all the 6 numbers of the caller and the number from which he called, was indicated with blue. This helped in knowing exactly what number he called me from and I could call back on the same number.

iOS 9.1 call log does not indicate the number the caller called from with blue (if the caller has more than one number). So, it becomes impossible to call the person back on the same number.

This was one very important feature that made iOS 8 very useful. Apple has taken away a very important feature.
Thanks.

Re: iOS 9 call log

Cep means mobile in Turkish. So he called me from first mobile number but I could not know which called. It was blue if I was using iOS 8, iOS 7....

The labels will show under the name. You don't need the blue when you tap the i. Make each number a different label. Then you will know which one called. Make one "cep", one "ev", one "iş", and so on.
Look at my images above. Marcia called and it says iPhone under her name. Now look at the other image. It shows the number with iPhone.

When outgoing call, it looks OK for me , but it must be blue for incoming calls. That's the main problem.

Here the ss shown below.

Salih xxxx called me 4 times in today.

But which number called. Cause, it has 3 of numbers in contact info.

Which number I can call in recent tab ?

It is simple question. It was a blue in old iOS versions I know and I was using.
