If I buy some iPhones, keep them well preserved and never use them, will it be an investment ?

Sorry for this irrelevant question, neither a ios problem or an app trouble. I hope my thread won't be deleted.
Personally I think it's a general Apple news discussion thread because the iPhone 6s is approaching in this fall.
I've seen some time capsules which contain abundant things, books, magazines, electronics and valuable things.
If I buy some iPhones, keep them well preserved and never use them, will it be an investment ?
And I've heard some old Mac machines were sold as antiques with very high auction price.

It depends on how the phones are viewed after a period of time. The original iPhone, for example, unopened and never used, goes for around $5,000-$10,000.

The rest of the iPhones don't go for that much though, as far as I know. I think the only products that have a large return are the revolutionary products Apple made (Apple I, Macintosh, iMac, iPod, and iPhone).

Why? Just keep them in good environment, make them look pristine as much as possible and open them up 20 years later.:rotfl:
The battery won't work? Or it is an impractical idea?
