How can I delete pics from my photo sharing?

I am trying to delete pics from my photo sharing.

In following the directions to do that, I was able to complete all the steps until getting to the trash icon. I have no trash icon on the page. What should I do now?

There's not much "steps" to it. I go to the photos app> Tap "shared" in bottom center> Tap on a photo to highlight > Tap trash can in lower right corner. If you don't see a trash can, try a hard reset.
Hold the top power/sleep button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release.
