I'm under the impression that it's beneficial to stay within an ecosystem especially for syncing purposes. Having said that, since you're already familiar with your Samsung phone and with the Android operating system, it may be better for you to get an Samsung tablet. Still, that's my opinion. You have to decide for yourself which one to buy.
