How would I block one certain app without blocking all of one age group

I am trying to block Instagram and Twitter for my son. I want to block just those two apps from even being an option to install. I have tried restrictions and did ages 9+ and younger only. When I did that, it deleted all apps that were that age group, including apps like beats music for example.

How would I be able to block Instagram from being installed without it blocking apps from the same age limit?

As far as I know, you cannot currently block "specific apps", but you can prevent the App Store from displaying on your son's device. Doing so will prevent him from installing anything without your approval. Home Sharing is also a good alternative because you can approve or disapprove on an app purchase. Anyway, to prevent the App Store from displaying on your son's device, go to the Restrictions Settings and then disable to toggle next to "Installing Apps".
