will iPhone 7 sporting a USB C connector instead of lighting?

Now that we see the Macbook Air has only one USB C port, will the iPhone follow it ? Not the 6S or 6S Plus as that require major redesign

With Apple's desire to produce thin devices, I imagine lightning isn't going anywhere since it's a thinner and more versatile connector than USB C. I also don't think thunderbolt is going anywhere yet, the bandwidth is still much higher. USB C only allows one external monitor, which is reason enough to keep thunderbolt on the pro models.

They sure as hell better not do away with the thunderbolt connector or someone is going to be refunding my money for this Lacie drive I bought (and replaced TWICE).

USB Type C port that is something we all are expecting than; highly unlikely of Apple devices to get flash storage.
