In iCloud recently, I noticed a sharp spike of spam emails claiming to be "Apple", "Apple iTunes" or "iTunes". Below are my screenshots for what to look for!

The emails are most definitely the worst attempt of a scam ever.

Wow. I bet a lot of people would fall for this.

Thanks for the heads up. These look quite authentic but not quite with the Apple polish we might normally see

I know people who have fallen for this unfortunately, they lost control of their Apple ID and got their iDevices remotely wiped!

If you use a fresh email address for your Apple ID, one of the easiest ways to tell if it's a scam when it comes to Apple is the fact that 99.999999999999% of the time, they'll associate your "account" with an email that is not the same as your Apple ID's connected email. I get at least a couple per month to one of my main work related emails, but I have an email address connected to my Apple ID that i ONLY use for the Apple ID. Makes it easy to weed this crap out.
